Submit a Book Review

Clarion welcomes readers to submit a book review for publication. For such an article to be considered, it must fall within the following guidelines. It must be:

  • About a book that fits with Clarion’s purpose and which would be of benefit to readers
  • Clear, coherent, and readable, with a minimum of editing needed
  • Written in a Christian manner, giving an honest and fair-minded evaluation of the book’s contents
  • Original to the author (i.e. no plagiarism)
  • A piece never yet published or, if published elsewhere, submitted with formal permission from that publication to publish in Clarion
  • 600-700 words (maximum; in special cases a longer review may be permitted but this would require a discussion with Clarion’s editor-in-chief)
  • Accompanied by a digital image of the book’s cover (in high resolution)
  • Submitted as a Microsoft Word document (no PDFs please)
  • Include the book’s full title, author, publishing information, page count, whether hard or soft cover (or paperback), and the approximate selling price in Canadian dollars. For example:
Bullies and Saints: An Honest Look at the Good and Evil of Christian History, by John Dickson. (Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 2021). Paperback. 328 pages. Approx. $23.75 CDN.
